Travel safe
Travel Safe
At Denby Free, we are committed to promoting sustainable and safe travel options for our pupils, staff, and the wider community. We recognise the importance of setting a positive example and encouraging environmentally-friendly practises.
Encouraging Sustainable Travel
In line with our school's vision and values, we actively work to inspire our pupils to make responsible choices when it comes to how they travel to and from school. We encourage cycling, scooting, car sharing, and the use of public transport as alternatives to individual car usage. By doing so, we aim to not only reduce our carbon footprint but also improve the health and well-being of our school community.
Promoting Health and Safety
Our travel plan goes beyond just transportation; it also focuses on improving the overall health and safety of our pupils. We believe that by providing safe and accessible routes for walking and cycling, we can empower our children to adopt active lifestyles from an early age. This not only benefits their physical well-being but also contributes to their cognitive development and academic success.
Engaging the Community
At Denby Free CE (Aided) Primary School, we recognise that our travel initiatives have a wider impact on the local community. We work closely with the parish council, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure that our travel plan aligns with the needs and concerns of the neighbourhood. By fostering this collaborative approach, we can create a safer and more sustainable environment for everyone.
Continuous Improvement
As we strive to uphold our Christian values of stewardship and responsibility, we are committed to regularly reviewing and refining our travel plan. We welcome feedback from our pupils, parents, and the wider community, and we are always exploring new ways to enhance our sustainable travel initiatives. Through this ongoing process, we aim to inspire our children to become active, environmentally-conscious citizens who can make a positive difference in the world.
