Early Help at Denby Free
Our Early Help Offer at Denby Free – Supporting Stronger Families for Thriving Children
At Denby Free CE (Aided) Primary School, we are committed to providing comprehensive early help support to our pupils and their families. As a Church Aided school, we believe in nurturing the whole child - academically, emotionally, and spiritually - within our caring Christian community.
Preventing Problems, Building Strengths
Our early help approach is focused on preventing problems before they escalate and building on the strengths of our families. We work closely with local organisations to identify risks early and provide the right support at the right time. Guided by evidence-based practises, we ensure that the voice of the child is heard, and we value safeguarding training at all levels of our school.
Supporting Those in Need
We recognise that some of our pupils and families may face additional challenges, such as:
- Disability or special educational needs
- Young caring responsibilities
- Risk of exploitation or criminal behaviour
- Domestic abuse, mental health issues, or substance misuse in the home
In these cases, we are proactive in offering tailored early help, including:
- Day-to-day pastoral support from our dedicated staff
- Focused interventions through our early help assessments
- Signposting to external agencies and community resources
Measuring Success
We will know our early help efforts are successful when we see the following outcomes:
For Children and Young People:
- Improved physical and emotional health
- Enhanced resilience and academic progress
- Strong support from families and the community
- Safe, nurturing environments that enable learning and development
For Parents and Carers:
- Increased peer support and access to helpful resources
- Trusting relationships with school staff and other professionals
- Better understanding of child development and motivation to make positive choices
By working in partnership with our families and the local community, we aim to create an environment where all children can truly shine, in line with our school's vision and values.
