School Improvement Plans

School Improvement Planning at Denby Free.

At Denby Free CofE VA Primary School, we are a proactive and innovative school that places great emphasis on maintaining high standards for our pupils. As a voluntary aided school, we are committed to continuously improving our provision to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children in our care through the support of the LA, the Diocesan Board for Education and other agencies and providers.

Driving Improvement through Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

At the heart of our school improvement process is a deep commitment to engaging with our entire school community. We firmly believe that by empowering our staff, parents, and pupils to have a voice in shaping our development, we can make decisions that truly reflect the needs and aspirations of our school.

Throughout the year, we gather feedback from all stakeholders through a variety of channels, including staff meetings, parent surveys, and pupil focus groups. This valuable input helps us identify areas for improvement and informs the priorities outlined in our School Improvement Plan.

Focusing on Key Priorities

Our current School Improvement Plan outlines several key focus areas that align with our school's vision and values:

  • Enhancing Curriculum Provision: We are committed to providing a broad and balanced curriculum that inspires a joy and commitment to learning in all our pupils. This includes reviewing and refining our curriculum to ensure it is appropriately challenging and reflective of our pupils' diverse needs and learning styles.

  • Strengthening Pupil Outcomes: Recognising that every child has the potential to succeed, we are dedicated to setting high expectations and providing tailored support to help all our pupils achieve their personal best. This involves closely monitoring progress, identifying and addressing any barriers to learning, and celebrating the successes of our young learners.

  • Fostering Wellbeing and Personal Development: Alongside academic progress, we place great importance on nurturing the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of our pupils. Through our Christian ethos and a range of enrichment activities, we aim to equip our children with the knowledge, skills, and understanding to become confident, healthy, and responsible citizens.

  • Empowering our Staff: We understand that our dedicated team of teachers and support staff are crucial to the success of our school. As such, we are committed to providing ongoing professional development opportunities and fostering a collaborative, supportive environment where everyone can thrive.

Continuous Improvement and Accountability

As a school, we are dedicated to a culture of continuous improvement, and our School Improvement Plan is a living document that evolves to meet the changing needs of our community. We regularly review our progress, celebrate our successes, and make adjustments to ensure we are consistently working towards our vision of inspiring, nurturing, and educating our children to shine within a happy, caring Christian community.
