Ofsted and Performance Data

At Denby Free CE (Aided) Primary School, we are fully committed to ensuring that our children receive the best education we can provide for them. We work closely with outside agencies, including Ofsted, to continuously improve our school and ensure that it is the best it can be.

Ofsted Inspection

Our most recent Ofsted inspection was conducted in 2023. At that time we received an overall rating of Requirements Improvement. During inspection inspectors commended our approach to 'Community collaboration and respect’ and how this is at the heart of everything that happens at our school. The report highlighted how our school's Christian ethos and values are woven throughout all aspects of school life, aligning with our vision.

The inspection also identified areas for development, which we continue to diligently address through our comprehensive school improvement plan. Our staff have undertaken targeted professional development to enhance their skills and ensure that all pupils, regardless of their individual needs or potential barriers to learning, have the opportunity to experience success and achieve their full potential.

Academic Performance

At Denby Free, we are committed to equipping our pupils with the essential skills in literacy, numeracy, and technology that will enable them to thrive in their secondary education and beyond. Our most recent assessment data shows that children make good progress over the time that they are with us and leave our school ready for the next steps in their education.

We are particularly proud of the progress made by our SEND and Pupil Premium pupils, demonstrating our dedication to providing a inclusive and supportive learning environment for all. Our curriculum is designed to foster creativity, develop pupils' understanding of their roles and responsibilities as citizens, and cultivate their spiritual, moral, social, and cultural growth.

Continuous Improvement

The information we gather from both Ofsted inspections and our own internal assessment data is crucial in informing our school improvement priorities and the ongoing professional development of our staff. By working closely with our dedicated team of teachers and support staff, as well as our engaged parent community, we are committed to building on our strengths and addressing any areas for improvement to ensure that Denby Free CE (Aided) Primary School continues to provide an exceptional educational experience for all our pupils.
