Maths
For your Maths starter we would like you to look at Week 2, Day 3 of the 'Fluent in 5' booklet above. These tasks are aimed at refreshing skills you have been taught throughout the year so that you remain fluent in them. You can print the pages out or just do them in your home learning book/a piece of paper.
In our main Maths lesson today, we are continuing our work with fractions by recapping our skills in subtracting mixed numbers. Watch the video first (remember to have a pen/paper/whiteboard handy tor the mini - tasks). You can record your answers to the worksheet/challenge on paper and photograph it for us or on a word document that you can attach to an email. Please use the answer sheet to mark your own work and make any corrections. If you email your work to us on the same day it is set, we will be able to give you some specific feedback on any mistakes you made to make sure you understand the concepts now. If you email it later than that, we would still love to see it and we can give you some general/whole class feedback.
N.B. Task time in Maths usually takes about 30 minutes so if you have some time remaining after you have done the core work, have a go at the challenge!

We are going to build on our work in previous year groups that looked at how people can choose to express their religious beliefs through the arts - this is known as Spiritual Art. In this unit, we will consider the views of Christians, Muslims and Humanists.
To begin with, we are going to revisit the idea of a special or 'sacred' space. Watch this film clip from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ by C S Lewis, where some children discover a doorway through a wardrobe to the magical kingdom of Narnia
(1) Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe - Peter and Susan discover Narnia [Scene] - YouTube
Make a note of your responses to the following questions:
What does the word 'sacred' mean to you? Find a dictionary definition.
Copy and complete these sentences:
o A special place I’d love to visit is... because...
o A place where I feel very good is... because...
o A place that is sacred for others, but not for me is...
o Some people think the whole earth is sacred because... I think...
o I believe that religious buildings are all sacred / are not all sacred because…
Before next week, use the internet to collect some images of places that are sacred to some religious believers...cathedrals, temples, mosques or other holy places. Why are these places there? Who loves them?
