United Against Bullying 16th - 20th November 2020
This week is anti-bullying week and our theme is being 'United Against Bullying'. We are celebrating our differences whilst also understanding that this doesn't mean someone should use these differences to bully someone. We are going to unite against bullies, help the children to understand the diversity the human race offers and celebrate this and accept our responsibility to stop bullying:
Friday 20th November - This was meant to be our 'Superheroes United Against Bullying Day'. I know lots of the children have still dressed up as Superheroes and there are some photographs below. There was also a jigsaw piece challenge which I hope your teachers have told you about with your child's promise or choice to show how they are united against bullying.

Thursday 19th November - The children watched the NSPCC assembly titled 'Speak Out. Stay Safe.' They all made handprints with the names of the trusted adults they would speak to if they had any worries.
Wednesday 18th November - We watched 'Wing' and looked at how bullies can sometimes see a disability as a weakness. We talked about how by working together, caring for one another and showing kindness we can all flourish and stop bullying.

Tuesday 17th November - We listened to the story of The Proudest Blue and looked at how the colour of someone's skin or religion can be why someone is bullied. We learnt that we need to be more informed to ensure we were not ignorant to these issues.
Monday 16th November - Odd Socks Day
The children have been celebrating our differences today by wearing odd socks. We had a special collective worship where Andy and his Oddsocks band talked to us about being united against bullying. Some of the children have even made sock puppets today.
