Denby Free Forest School
28.11.17 Years 3,4 and 5 all did a mini forest school session today. Year 3 made large natural sculptures. Year 4 learnt how to safely use pruning tools and tidied up our willow structures. The Year 5's started learning the knots used to put up hammocks.
17.11.17 The Year 4's had a fun Forest School session this week. They made mud faces, natural sculptures and learnt the knots used to put up hammocks.
13.11.17 Another fantastic Forest School session for the Sparrows. Today half the class made mud faces whilst the other half made nature bracelets. We also enjoyed playing 1,2,3 twit-twoo and find the mud-faces, plus having our milk on the field.
6.11.17 Sparrows took part in their first Forest School today. We played 1,2,3 Twit Twoo and talked about staying safe on the field. We explored our magic field and then played Gruffalo hide and seek. Finally we found long objects, including sticks and willow leaves which we then used our senses to look at closely.
17.01.17 - Eagles, Doves, Swifts and Sparrows all had a wonderful afternoon exploring the field. The Eagles tidied up the willow structures under the guidance of Mr. Chuck while the other children made some fantastic sculptures and discoveries.
This half term the Owls have been taking part in Forest School on our school field. The weather has been rainy but this hasn't dampened our spirits. Here are some of the children making pieces of sculpture from natural materials. Their ideas were very imaginative. They made flowers, spirals, squares, a collage of London (including a lion from the zoo) and Saul's 'Natural Drum Kit'. The class have also learnt to identify the tress on our field and had fun playing a wide game called 'Spiders and Flies'.
