May 2020
Due to the current situation the Friends have had to cancel many fundraising events they had planned for the Spring and Summer. However, we have organised a sponsored run that can be done with your own family, observing the current advice. We hope you will enjoy taking part, and raising much needed funds for school. Please see links above for more information and to access the sponsor form.
2019:
Bingo Night – Friday 15th February, 6pm, Denby Cricket Club.
Fashion Show and Sale – Thursday 9th May, 7pm, Horsley Lodge.
Summer Fayre – Saturday 15 June 2019.
Denby Dash Fun Run – Sunday 22 September 2019.
Christmas Fayre – Date to be announced.
2018:
January - New Year Disco – we supported the School Council with a fund-raising school disco. The Friends booked Gazza’s Disco for a fabulous night. The School Council raised funds by selling tickets and refreshments. What a great night!!
December - Christmas Fayre – the Christmas Fayre raised a grand total of £1773.82 – it was a great evening with fun, stalls, games, refreshments and a visit from Santa! Thank you to everyone who supported it.
September - Denby Dash III – the Denby Dash raised a grand total of £1079.41 – we were supported by the local community and running clubs as well as the school community. Thank you to all involved.
What do we spend the money raised on? In the past we have supported school by:
Helped to fund the new wooden trim-track and playground resurfacing with fundraising and grant funding
Gifting every child a book at Christmas
Helping towards school trips by subsidising each child
Contributed to the text messaging service for school
Bought maths resources
Paid for subscription to Spelling Shed
Paid for the Renaissance (literacy) software
Funded an author for Book Week
Bought small Easter treats for each child
Paid for the Year 6 Leaver’s treat to Laser Quest, Bowling and Pizza Hut
Gave each child and ice-cream treat from Emma’s Ices
Gave a donation of money to each class teacher to buy resources for their classroom
Funded collections of new books for each classroom
