The focus at the end of the week has been in preparation for our Remembrance service which took place today at 11 o'clock at St Mary's Church. The children created really striking watercolour paintings showing the contrast of the battlefields and the poppy as a symbol of hope. As always, they showed immense respect at the War Memorial where we observed two minutes silence, heard poems and prayers and lay down some of the children's work as a symbol of remembrance.
This weeek has been another busy week for everyone in Eagle's class. The children have been working hard in Numeracy and their confidence is really growing with fraction work. In Literacy they have enjoyed reading and working with the novel 'Street Child' and even had a visit from the book's main character 'Jim' who told them all about what it was like in the workhouse!!
