This year's anti-bullying week has kicked off fabulously and there has been a lot of love in the air. We started the day by sharing the love in the best way possible: with sweets! On the playground, parents and carers were offered a tasty treat to brighten up their day; most people seemed very happy!
Each class is being asked to consider a question of the day throughout the week. The first question was: 'What is the best way to show love?' The children came up with some heart-warming responses including:
'By saying sorry.'
'By sharing toys.'
'Through spending time with someone.'
'Hugging.'
'Helping someone.'
'Showing affection.'
'Through your body language.'
'By complimenting someone.'
'Being trustworthy and reliable.'
'By smiling.'
'Through kindness.'
'Through sacrificing things for another person.'
Millie and Nancy from the anti-bullying team asked Mrs Marshall for her response to the question. She thought carefully and said: 'I think that the best way you can show love is through putting other people first.' A great answer Mrs Marshall, thank you!
The anti-bullying team did fantastically as they took their first collective worship of the week. The team have been absolute superstars already and are so professional! We have representatives from each class on the team: Evan (Sparrows), Hannah (Doves), Helena (Owls), Millie and Nancy (Falcons) and Gracie and Saul (Eagles.) Look out for more from them throughout the week.
There was also a challenge presented to everyone in school: find the secret message! Around school this week, there are fifteen different thoughts about love/positive encouragement for the week. The children were told that each one has a letter on it that forms part of a secret message. Could they gather all fifteen and organise them into a message? Lots of children took up the challenge and some even solved it today and were rewarded with a prize.
We're all looking forward to seeing what tomorrow will bring.
Remember: SHARE THE LOVE!
